Hello, I'm Tj
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” - Mark Twain
Hi, I’m Tj - a seasoned Yoga Instructor, Communicator, Journey Guide, Ayurvedic care practitioner, and Certified Women’s Health Coach based in Franklin, KY.
My path into yoga and health coaching is a bit unconventional. After spending decades in Marine Fisheries and Sustainable Seafood, I jumped into Yoga and Health Coaching following a transformational self-study trip to Ojai California. During that journey, it became clear to me on every level: I needed to be my healthiest self in mind, body and soul in order to be the best mother, sister, daughter, friend and colleague I could possibly be to those around me. Now every day, I bring my passion, teachings and learnings everywhere possible to help women embrace their authentic healthy self.
MY HOLISTIC APPROACH TO LIFE, YOGA AND WOMEN'S HEALTH
My goal is to help every person I work with feel like a badass as they welcome positive change into their lives. I consider myself a modern yogi with old school training. You’ll find a “hippy dippy” vibe from me with a yogic foundation based in holistic truths. I’m trained and certified to serve people just like you on their yogic and health journey.
I became mesmerized with how the body can be at its strongest at any age. I am able to suggest and instruct specific stretches, positions, and movements to help properly engage a woman’s body for strength, flexibility and longevity by creating an inner-connected mind, body and spirit.
As women, we are the hardest on ourselves, often sabotaging our efforts at success, love and health. But I believe all women have the power inside themselves to achieve the improvements they seek. I simply guide, support and empower my students and clients as they explore their own bio-diversity, transform specific aspects of their lives and grow as beautiful women.
MY ROLE AS YOUR GUIDE
As a Yogi, I believe no one can be an "expert" when it comes to mind, spirit and body journeys. With every circumstance, comes a new opportunity to learn and grow in awareness. This is the basis from which I teach. I will never ask you to know all and be perfect — in fact, I expect you to be IMPERFECT!
As a yogi practicing in my 20’s, I focused on Ashtanga, Vinyasa and power, power, power. As a more experienced instructor and practitioner now, I infuse my power practices with yin, meditation, Tai Chi, Kriyas’, Mudras, Pranayama and savasana (to name a few). I look forward to sharing all disciplines with you.
I am also a certified women’s health coach. I offer clients 1:1 meetings and wellness programs to help achieve your goals. Together, we co-create completely personalized actions plans based on your goals to move toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources. I believe health and wellness go beyond food and exercise. Stress and unknown anxiety has a way of taking us off course. I’ll help you identify the hidden complications in your life and tailor a plan for specific to you.
I am a Core Power, Yoga Works, Hanuman Academy, Yoga Veda Institute trained yoga instructor currently studying with Shiva Rea, Dylan Werner and Akanda Yoga. I have been actively teaching for 3+ years, taught more than 500 hours, and worked with yogis from 5 to 85. I have studied and practiced yoga since 1995.
I am also an Aerial Yoga teacher certified through Transcend Yoga and a StandUp Paddleboard teacher through FloYo. I am engaged in my Ayurveda yoga practitioner training and am a facilitator for the Yoga Veda Institute. I combine science and technology to empower positive life transformations for women 45 + through my teachings. I offer classes, private sessions, workshops and retreats in-person, virtually and around the world.
I have had the honor to work with:
Saul David Raye
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned practical lifestyle management techniques and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between. I combine my yoga training and biology background (a Masters’ Degree) to help my clients with a myriad of goals including, but not limited to:
Gain confidence in themselves
Love their body (again, or for the very first time)
Incorporate more movement into their day-to-day lives
Discover their passions
Get into their creative groove
Great! If you’ve gotten this far, I’ll bet you’ll like exploring what I offer my students and clients. Check out the Franklin studio, online classes, and (hopefully soon again), in person yoga and health coaching services.
